Reproduction of Frieze of Prophets, McClain High School Sometime between 1915 and 1918, the Edward Lee McClain High School in the small town of Greenfield, Ohio, acquired a gift of reproductions of “great masterpieces of ancient and modern art” in both painting and sculpture. The gift stipulated that the reproductions would be selected for their status as “great art,” their educational value, and their inspiration to “purer morals and broader and better citizenship.” Frieze of Prophets was chosen as one of the works to be purchased in reproduction and displayed in the school’s hallway gallery of great art.
