Frieze of Prophets, detail of Hosea Contemporaries reported that Sargent’s favorite figure among the prophets was the youthful Hosea, one of only two in the frieze that he posed directly facing the viewer. Like Ezekiel, Hosea is robed and hooded in white. His clean-shaven, handsome features reflect those of George Roller, a colleague and friend of Sargent’s who later worked as a conservator at the Royal Academy, London.
