This site requires Internet Explorer 5.1 (Mac) or Netscape 6.0 or later.
Images and color are best on newer (better) monitors. A black-on-white site is accessible via the entry screen (“monitor too dark?”). If you are using a monitor set to 800 x 600, collapse the browser toolbar— command-B Macs, control-B, PCs— to access the full site interface without scrolling. Navigation in sections with sequential multiple screens uses this graphic:
When the cursor is over the lefthand triangle, it lights up. A mouse click on the lefthand triangle navigates to the previous screen in a section. When the cursor is over the righthand triangle, it lights up. A mouse click on the righthand triangle navigates to the next screen in a section. Last/first screen goes to first/last screen in a section. Some sections are also navigable by means of an architectural plan of Sargent Hall, matched with a list of mural titles or years of installation.
An asterisk (*) at the end of an image credit indicates that there is more label information to be found in the “Site and image credits” section. Rollovers are used to: compare images; to highlight a particular mural or set of murals on a plan of Sargent Hall (as above); to highlight a section or subsection title link as a navigational element, and to display a thumbnail of a mural, as on the home page. Rollover links are in light blue; regular links and links to the glossary are in white. For visitors on Macs: if you would like to read larger text, press command (the apple key) and the plus sign, to enlarge the text one size. Press command and the minus sign to reduce text size. This site serves 150-800K quicktime virtual reality panoramas, requiring the quicktime plug-in (5.0 or later), pre-installed in many newer browser versions. If you do not have the plug-in, it is available free from Apple. Most of the web pages include multiple rollovers and will take a minute or two to download on dial-up connections. Preparatory studies 11 has a color and grayscale strip.
