Sargent Hall, east and west walls

Sargent’s lighting changes (continued)

Sargent grouped his sconces on the east and west walls. Two pairs of lights were arranged around Synagogue and Church on the east wall. The third pair flanked the center doorway on the west wall. This re-arrangement of the lights shifted the focus of the lighting in the Hall, concentrating more illumination at the center and leaving the ends of the Hall more subdued.
