Sargent painted his Joyful Mysteries on the vault adjacent to Handmaid of the Lord, and Sorrowful Mysteries adjacent to Madonna of Sorrows. Mysteries of the Rosary thus forms a bridge linking the two Madonnas. Joyful Mysteries comprises the Annunciation, at center; the Visitation, at left; the Nativity, below; the Presentation, above; and the Finding of Jesus in the Temple, at right.
